• Whenever someone throws a piece of trash (e.g.
plastic cup, chewing gum, cigarette butt, etc) onto the
street, it will eventually be washed or blown into our
storm drain system and end up in the ocean.

• In order to protect our ecosystem always throw your
trash away in the proper waste receptacle and make an
effort to pick up and dispose of other pieces of litter that
you see on the ground.

• Remember to always pick up after your pet when walking your dog on the street.

• Pet waste left on sidewalks is not only hazardous to the environment but it is also
unsanitary and a potential health risk for you and your dog.

• Dogs who suffer from afflictions such as Canine Parvovirus and/or Canine
Distemper have the potential to pass on the illnesses to other healthy dogs through
their stools.

• A parasite called Giardia may also pass from dog feces to humans who come into
contact with remnants of the infected stool.

Drive Less

• Carpool with others; find out if your job offers a carpool service.

• Walk or ride a bicycle.

Drive Smart

use.

• Keep your car tuned and comply with the smog check program.

• Don't top off at the gas pumps.
